I recently had a great stay at a budget-friendly hostel in Cairns. The staff were incredibly helpful, always ready to assist me with any requests I had. The location was perfect, with shops and restaurants just a short walk away. The private room I stayed in had comfortable beds and air conditioning to beat the heat. The bathrooms were kept clean, and the WiFi worked well. I also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to unwind by the pool.

I did notice that the kitchen could have been cleaner.

The location of this hotel was fantastic - it was really close to the marive jetty and just a short walk to Coles Supermart. The convenience of being near these key spots made exploring the area so much easier. Additionally, the decoration of the hotel was really nice and gave off a friendly vibe. The clean and new kitchen facilities were a bonus and made cooking meals a breeze.

There were a couple of downsides to my stay at this hotel. the room had a bit of a smell, but I think it was more due to a roommate rather than the fault of the hotel.

I wanted to visit the Cairns ZOOM and Wildlife Dome and chose Reef Backpackers for its good location. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the luggage storage feature, which was available even before check-in time. Additionally, the shared kitchen provided a great opportunity to prepare simple meals using the stove and oven.

Unclean facilities, noise disturbances, lack of curtains, and the presence of insects.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always available to answer any questions I had. The location was perfect, with the train station, a big shopping mall, and the vibrant nightlife of the city center all within walking distance. The hostel was very clean and well-maintained, with modern facilities such as air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. I also loved the spaciousness of the hostel, with plenty of areas to relax and socialize. The pool was a nice addition too. this hostel provided a safe and comfortable stay at an affordable price.

No negatives from this place.

The manager was friendly and attentive, rooms were well-equipped and cleaned daily, easy access to pool and kitchen, informative common room with local event information, close proximity to bars and restaurants.

Can't fault the property in any way.

The rooms at Reef Backpackers are great! They have their own lockers where you can stash your stuff, which is super convenient. If you book a twin or single room, you'll find a cozy bunk bed waiting for you. I loved having a place to store my belongings right in the room.

I wasn't a big fan of the bunk beds in the twin room. Personal preference though, some people might still enjoy them.

Amazing staff, super friendly and always willing to help. Relaxed atmosphere, not a party hostel but the weekly BBQ and party at a nearby venue was mind-blowing. Awesome deals on snorkelling, diving, and skydiving tours. Great location near the esplanade and shopping center. Clean and organized kitchen thanks to the awesome staff. Would definitely stay here again!

The location of the accommodation makes it easy to explore the area, with plenty of activities and entertainment options nearby. Guests can enjoy a swim in the swimming pool or relax on the fatboy pillows in the spacious common areas. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing meals.

The dorm rooms could use some upgrading to improve comfort levels.

The breakfast options included toast with jam and peanut butter, and there was a TV with Netflix available. The staff, particularly Leo, offered great deals for activities like the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Forest. The cleanliness was exceptional, surpassing all other places. The communal areas provided a variety of ways to relax, including table tennis and billiards. The location was also excellent, with renovations in progress and refreshing showers.

As longer term business travelers, we loved the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff at this hostel. The dorm rooms were clean and the bathrooms well-maintained. The wifi worked well throughout the hostel and the huge garden area with a pool was a great bonus. We highly recommend this hostel to any backpackers.

Felt like home, no complaints whatsoever.
